Being a Diva has been an awesome blessing to yours truly (We are grateful to hear that). I came into Diva land by chance. As at the time I was introduced into this group of wonderful women, I was at crossroads as to taking decisions on several issues around me. I was truly in a state of confusion and discontent. I just finished my EMBA at LBS and the fire was burning in my bones and I really needed to act but didn’t know where and how to start. I was overwhelmed with happenings around me. I was invited to the 2nd Annual WOW D.I.V.A.S Possibilities Hangout-”Unleash the Champion Within , which held at Eko Hotel in March 2013, by a wonderful friend and sister and excitedly I accepted and I never regret taking that decision. It was a turning point in my life.
I sat down there and listened to speakers like Mrs. Rapu, MO Abudu, Adesuwa Onyenokwe and yours truly RPD (Udo Maryanne Okonjo).

I have never seen a gathering of very successful women, female tycoons under one roof and not sizing themselves up as to “what is she wearing”,” wow that shoe is gorgeous”,”is that a Funmi or Remy hair” etc (caveat- we do that sometimes- just not frequently..lol). But women focused on one thing, “To Inspire and Encourage” each other. I sat down and listened to success stories of these wonderful women, how they started, challenges faced as they grew and above all, how in the midst of all these challenges, they NEVER gave up but held on firmly to their visions and the Word of God. Then I knew I was in the right place and wanted to get to know more about them.

I filled out the forms and the wait for their response to my application was the longest time in my life. (Apologies TEDD. We work as volunteers so it does get hectic. With you on board, we’ll get better-right?). At last I got a response and from the mail and questionnaire sent to me, I knew they were not into child’s play but serious business (lol-Contrary to surface impressions- we are pretty serious for sure). It took me 2 days to answer the questionnaire after much cracking of my brain and research. Then another period of wait and voila, I got accepted. The interesting thing about this group is that they help you identify who you truly are. You get to read loads of inspirational books, you get to put your hope and trust in God for He is the author and finisher of our faith, your spiritual life must increase when yoked with these ladies. They are passionate for God, true worshipers and believers. I started learning how to be more humble, pride is a taboo in this group. I learnt to take small steps towards my big dreams. It’s not all about what you have (who cares what you have? Who YOU are is more important to us), but what you can give back to the society. They are warm and are accountable to each other. You have at every point in time a sister subtly pushing and pulling you towards the right direction in your chosen profession, business, spiritual life and everything in general.

The D’preneurs Accountability circle I belong to has helped me in structuring my business and daily there is improvement. I have timelines for everything. You don’t just do anything anyhow. Put structures in place that helps you move. Act and talk like a true tycoon that you are. Today I stand boldly to say I’m able to utilize my EMBA better due to the encouragement I got from these wonderful sisters. I want to say a big thanks to my wow sisters Ayotomi and Sophia, you babes truly inspired and lingered me on. In Diva land, there is no word called “IMPOSSIBLE”. ALL things are POSSIBLE for us. (Impossible is nothing. Impossible is just an opinion. A dare.)

We also have the Diva Healthy living, where we learn about what to eat and what not to. I eat more healthy now (don’t we all? Sign! Thanks to coaches EDWB Kehinde Pitan and Remarkable Diva Kwavi of Atlanta MD Weight loss), thanks to expert sisters in the house. We just finished a 21 day sugar detox, it was awesome. Thanks to coach K. I lost some weights and I’m proud of myself. I was opportuned to work in a project that I’m passionate about. Women issues. Breast Cancer to be precise. I’m a very passionate person on issues that concerns women and I was glad to be a part of the planning and execution of the Zumbathon in aid of breast cancer. It gave me joy to do what we did.

What more can I say, WOW DIVAS, I’m definitely Walking On Water, I’m surely a Woman Of Worth and I’m Divinely Inspired Victoriously Annointed Sister. I believe this is where the Lord wants me to be to move to that next level. Thanks All. (We should be saying thank you for demonstrating the WoW Diva spirit and proactively supporting all the activities in the short time you’ve been on board. Kudos diva girl.)
